MATT TURNER, WHO IS BOUND FOR ARSENAL

WATCH: MATT TURNER, WHO IS BOUND FOR ARSENAL, REFUSES TO SIGN A TOTTENHAM FAN’S JERSEY

A video of incoming Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner that surfaced online on Monday is sure to bring a collective grin to the Gunners faithful’s faces.

This comes after the 27-year-old made it clear that he is committed to the red half of north London.

Turner, who will serve as a backup to Aaron Ramsdale in Mikel Arteta’s team next season, played his final game for the New England

Following a 2-1 victory over Minnesota United, the United States international took some time to express his gratitude to the New England supporters.

As he made his way through the crowd, Turner was seen signing jerseys and mementos held out by fans as a farewell gift.

However, one fan in particular saw their attempts to obtain the shot-autograph stopper’s fall short in a hilarious manner. This happened as Turner, who had his marker ready, noticed that the person in issue was wearing a Tottenham Hotspur jersey.

The New Jersey native then said, “Oh, no, no,” before removing his marker and going on to the next group of spectators.

Here’s some footage from the post-match celebrations:

Is Raphinha on the way?
Returning to the transfer front, Turner, who has already been joined by Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira as new additions to Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer, may soon have even more new faces to meet in England’s capital.

This comes as part of Arsenal’s ongoing recruitment effort, which saw the club intensify their chase of Leeds United midfielder Raphinha today.

Indeed, rumours from the explosive attacker’s home country of Brazil suggest that talks between the Emirates and Elland Road boards might be completed as soon as this week.
