ERIK TEN HAG, THE NEW MANCHESTER UNITED BOSS, HAS FIVE SUMMER SIGNINGS IN MIND.
Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag aims to make ‘at least five signings’ before the end of the summer transfer season.
Following the completion of the season, the former Ajax manager took over as manager, with interim leader Ralf Rang nick stepping down to make way for the Dutchman.
He has yet to make any new signings to the team that finished sixth last season, despite the fact that six players have left on free transfers.
According to the Manchester Evening News, this is about to change, with new Manchester united coach hoping to bring in at least five new players this summer.
Frenkie de Jong is front and centre, and Ten Hag wants to make his former teammate a cornerstone of his Old Trafford midfield. The Red Devils, on the other hand, are unwilling to be held hostage by the Dutchman and are eager to reach an agreement with cash-strapped Barcelona.
Meanwhile, a deal for Ajax’s Jurrien Timber has been called into question, but the centre of defence is surely one to watch. Timber’s teammate Antony, who the Red Devils are rumoured to be interested in moving to Manchester, is as well.
Manchester United are discussing internally about submitting a new proposal for Frenkie de Jong in the next days. It’s a serious possibility, while talks with Barça are still on. 🚨🇳🇱 #MUFC

Christian Eriksen is another name on their radar, with the Dane reportedly ready to pick between the Red Devils and his previous side Tottenham Hotspur now that his contract with Brentford has come to an end. This isn’t expected to have an influence on any De Jong deals.
What are the alternatives to wood?
Manchester United have identified alternate options as Jurrien Timber’s chances of finishing the transfer window in England appear to be dwindling.
On that list are Villareal centre-back Pau Torres and Braga defender David Carmo, as well as Sporting defender Goncalo Inacio, whom they have had a long-term interest in.
The Red Devils are set to have a busy transfer window, despite the fact that it has only just begun.
