Low: Gotze is a perfect fit for Germany’s World Cup roster.

Joachim Low, the former coach of Germany, believes that Mario Gotze possesses all the skills necessary to rejoin the team in time for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM. The playmaker has 63 caps for his nation and won the Brazil 2014 final against Argentina in extra time with a goal.

However, Gotze hasn’t featured for Germany since coming on as a substitute in the second half of a friendly match against France in November 2017. That comes as a result of the former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich star’s lack of success at the club level. He exchanged PSV for Eintracht Frankfurt in a reported €4 million deal.

The 30-year-old will seek to rejoin the Germany squad by playing for Eintracht in the UEFA Champions League and returning to the Bundesliga. Gotze has the talent to secure a spot in Hansi Flick’s squad for Qatar 2022, according to Low, who led Germany to that World Cup victory as the pinnacle of his 15-year tenure.

Low told Sky Deutschland that “He has all the qualities for it.” He will participate in the Champions League once again, he is the centre of attention in the Bundesliga, and he wants to make a good impression before the World Cup.

During the 2021–2022 season, Gotze played in 52 games for PSV and registered 12 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, despite rumours linking him to Serie A champions AC Milan. Oliver Glasner swooped in to improve his team as he sought to compete in Europe, but Low was taken aback by the transfer.

Naturally, I didn’t anticipate Mario to go back to Germany, he added. “No, not at this time.

“However, Mario and Eintracht make me very happy. Mario is an amazing player who plays with tremendous intellect, and he is highly professional. He fits very well with Eintracht.
