How many goals has Pierre-Emrick Aubameyang scored under Thomas Tuchel?
After being cut off by Mikel Arteta, Aubameyang left the Premier League for Barcelona less than a year ago.
He then had a productive second half of 2021–2022 at the Camp Nou, but he now seems destined to have a difficult time getting playing time this year.
Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski were both acquired by Barcelona over the summer, thus Aubameyang is unlikely to play regularly if he stays in Spain.
The Evening Standard also reports that Chelsea are close to switching Aubameyang: “They are in early talks to sign Aubameyang. The former captain of Arsenal has resisted moving from Barcelona, but Chelsea spoke with his representatives last week in an effort to persuade him to do so.
Between 2015 and 2017, before the former went for PSG, Tuchel and Aubameyang were both at Dortmund.
Aubameyang scored 40 goals and five assists in 2016/17, compared to 39 goals and 12 assists in 2015/16. These efforts continue to be Aubameyang’s strongest offensive campaigns and demonstrate why Tuchel wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Romelu Lukaku and Tammy Abraham are two examples of natural center-forwards with whom the former BVB manager doesn’t always get along, but because Aubameyang is also a skilled winger, he might find more success at Stamford Bridge.
