CHELSEA AND MANCHESTER UNITED ARE SET FOR A POSSIBLE FIGHT FOR MICHAEL EDWARDS
Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea could be set to go head-to-head for the services of former Liverpool transfer wiz Michael Edwards this summer as the former Reds key man looks set to return to football.
Edwards may be willing to return to the Premier League after leaving his Liverpool position, United and Chelsea have been warned. This is because both teams are looking to reorganise their organisational charts this summer.
Michael Edwards’ availability has alerted Man Utd and Chelsea. News of recent interest from Ajax, too. Edwards believed to want a longer break from football after leaving Liverpool but there’ll be no shortage of offers when he’s ready to return. https://t.co/cIHIHkaSp3

If Edwards does decide to return to the top tier of European football, it is anticipated that he will be one of the hottest market commodities this summer, although United and Chelsea may be in the lead to make a bid with the intention of appointing him as sports director.
Chelsea has a path to Edwards now that the Blues have parted ties with Marina Granovskaia, but Manchester United also has a shot now that the team has faith in Erik ten Hag and plans to make a significant renovation under the Dutch strategist.
Given Edwards’ track record at Liverpool, where he oversaw transactions for players like Alisson, Virgil Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson, Thiago, and Fabinho, it is obvious that United might benefit from his knowledge and experience.
The probable arrival of Edwards at Old Trafford would not come at a moment too soon for the English giants as they strive to regain their credentials as the top club in the nation. United are still working to finalise a deal for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
